About Classical Homeopathy
A deeply individualized approach to health
Whether you are seeking support for a longstanding concern, a recurring pattern of symptoms, or simply a greater sense of well-being, classical homeopathy begins with a simple premise: you are more than a collection of symptoms.
Homeopathy considers the whole person and the particular way that illness or imbalance is experienced by you. Two people with the same diagnosis may experience it very differently, and in classical homeopathy those differences matter.
This individualized approach is one of the things I value most about the practice.
Listening to the whole picture
A classical homeopathic consultation makes room for the full story of what you are experiencing. Physical symptoms are important, but so are the patterns and qualities that make those symptoms distinctly your own: what makes them better or worse, when they began, what else was happening at the time, and how your overall sense of vitality and well-being has changed.
Mental and emotional experiences may also be relevant when they form part of this larger picture. Within a homeopathic consultation, these are considered as aspects of the whole person and of the individual pattern that informs remedy selection.
Rather than viewing symptoms simply as problems to be eliminated, homeopathy regards them as meaningful expressions of the organism as a whole. Treatment is therefore selected not only for a particular complaint, but for the unique pattern expressed by the person experiencing it.
Gentle, individualized treatment
Classical homeopathy uses highly diluted substances prepared according to homeopathic principles. A single homeopathic medicine is chosen at a time based upon the overall pattern that emerges through careful consultation.
My role as a classical homeopath is to listen closely, observe carefully, and seek the remedy that most closely corresponds to that individual pattern.
For me, the aim of homeopathic care goes beyond the absence of symptoms, reaching toward greater freedom. An increased capacity to engage with life, more resilience in the face of stress, and less limitation by the patterns that have made life difficult.
This is the possibility I find most compelling in classical homeopathy: not becoming someone different, but having greater freedom to be who you already are.
Homeopathy and other health care
Homeopathy may be used alongside conventional medical services and other forms of health care. It is not a substitute for appropriate medical diagnosis, treatment, or emergency care, and I encourage clients to maintain relationships with their physicians and other health-care providers as appropriate.
My practice is grounded in the tradition and principles of classical homeopathy and in careful attention to each person who comes to me for care.
